Bio

Hi! My name is Laurel. I was born in Michigan.

I'm the only daughter of an athlete and an artist. I am an athlete and an artist myself :).

I studied Pre-Veterinary Medicine in college at Michigan State University. I'm a Spartan through and through. GO GREEN! I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. I am also fluent! :-) What I love about language is that there are always new words to learn. The learning never stops.

Traveling the world has always been an interest of mine and I will always take an opportunity to visit a place I have never been.

After college, I sent in a tape for MTV's The Real World because in high school someone told me I would be great on that show. I did not get cast on The Real World, but later got asked to participate on The Real World/Road Rules Challenge (now renamed: The Challenge). I feel comfortable competing and I was eager to take that opportunity at the time. (I was also young, and stupid.)

The most embarrassing moment in life happened while I was appearing on Reality TV. I got too drunk, said some mean things to a guy and humiliated myself. Since then, I have taken a hold on my alcohol use and it is something that I struggle to maintain a balance with all of the time. Alcoholism runs deep in my family and I do not want to waste my life being blackout drunk. Life is too precious a gift to waste time diluted on substances.

I currently live in the U.S.A. and am working on music. I am a self-taught vocalist, writer, and guitar player. I enjoy comedic acting, fashion, people, animals, the outdoors, and giving back to society. I love New York City and I love meeting new musicians and collaborating. My favorite artists are Dolly Parton, Richard Gere, Jack Nicholson, Pocohontas (fictional but favorite,) & Julie Andrews. The music that speaks to me I would label: Soul, Folk, Caribbean, Rock, Hip-Hop, Country and some Pop. However, I hate specifying genre's because my taste in music is not limited to only these categories. I am open to hearing all music. I believe a good song is a good song. A good beat is a good beat.
